Babysitter Training

Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents.

Target Group

This course is for youth 11–15 years old who babysit and want to learn caregiving techniques and basic lifesaving skills.

Babysitter Course Content

  • Business of babysitting

  • Caring for babies

  • Caring for toddlers

  • Caring for preschoolers

  • Caring for school-aged children

  • Creating safe environments

  • How to handle emergencies

  • First aid skills

Approximate Course Length: 8 hours

Students must pass a written exam and skills test in order to qualify for a Red Cross Babysitter certification card.

Cost: $61.91 + GST
