In this classroom scenario, students use a cervical collar, head blocks, oxygen and securing straps while managing the patient as a team. Together, they practise the communication, coordination and critical decisions required to deliver excellent patient care.

For Delta, professional is not a course level or job title. It means recognizing when help is needed, taking responsibility, and responding capably within your role and training.
That may mean calling 911, putting on gloves and starting CPR, or managing a complex emergency. The level of care changes. The standard does not.
Delta courses are taught by Advanced Care Paramedics, working firefighters, a Canadian Red Cross Instructor Trainer, and experienced emergency professionals. Our instructors bring the textbook into the real world through practical context, decision-making, hands-on repetition, and realistic scenarios.

Questions people actually ask
Which course do I need?
Start with the exact requirement provided by your employer, school, regulator, or department. Course names can sound similar while meeting different requirements. Use our course finder or send us the wording you were given, and we will help you compare it before you register.
Will my certificate be accepted for work, school, or OHS requirements?
You receive the applicable Canadian Red Cross certification when you successfully complete an eligible course. Your course follows the Red Cross program standards and your certificate is issued by the Canadian Red Cross. Whether a specific employer, school, regulator or standard accepts it is their call, not ours, so send us the exact wording you were given and we will read it with you before you register.
Do I need previous medical or first-aid experience?
No previous medical experience is required for most First Aid and CPR courses. Advanced and Professional Responder programs may have prerequisites, which are listed clearly on each course page.
Where are your public courses held?
In Calgary at 1550 5 St SW, Suite 300, and in Leduc at 4810 50 Ave, Suite 100, serving the greater Edmonton region.
Is private onsite training available?
Yes. Private onsite training is available across Alberta, with delivery elsewhere in Canada available by request. Contact Delta with your location, group size, required course, and preferred dates.
Is first aid training physically demanding?
Yes, honestly. Expect hands-on practice: CPR on manikins, kneeling, bending, moving around the room, bandaging and scenario work. Tell us in advance about anything that affects how you take part and we will plan for it.
When do I receive my certificate?
After successful course completion. Most eligible Canadian Red Cross certificates are processed digitally within 72 hours after the course is complete.
Is AED training included with first aid and CPR?
Yes. AED training is included in Canadian Red Cross first aid and CPR courses where applicable, not sold as an add-on.
Do students practise mouth-to-mouth in class?
No. There is no direct mouth-to-mouth contact between students in class. Ventilation skills are practised on manikins with barrier devices, and in most courses the pocket mask you train with is brand new and goes home with you.
Are you affiliated with Delta Air Lines?
No. Delta Emergency Support Training is a Canadian medical training company and is not affiliated with Delta Air Lines.
