“I recently completed the Advanced First Aid course with Delta and couldn’t be more satisfied. Stephen was my main instructor, and I also had the chance to work with Connor during the practice exam. Both were highly knowledgeable, supportive, and encouraging.

Thanks to their teaching approach, I also learned more about myself throughout the course, which I truly appreciated. I highly recommend this program to anyone!

Big thanks to the entire team, and to Jarrett, for providing such a high-quality course.”

“Never before have the words “fun” and “first aid course” been in the same sentence, until Delta Emergency came along. The Advanced First Aid (AFA) course was genuinely some of the most fun I’ve had in awhile! You take away what you put into the course, so luckily our class was very engaged and willing to participate. Kumari was a pro at delivering the content and ensuring the class was successful in understanding and applying said content. I cannot recommend Delta enough for your education in first aid!!!”

“Being trained by Delta instructors, was awesome! I've taken my AFA previously, and I got so much more from it this time. Delta's instructors are current firefighters/paramedics that have 1st hand knowledge and experience with what they are teaching. I enjoyed every bit of time spent with Jarrett and Stephen! Any future course I take, will be with them🤗 thanks for the great experience guys!”

“Delta Emergency exceeded my expectations. The information was incredibly applicable—not just for passing the AFA certification, but for real-life emergency situations. The scenarios were realistic, engaging, and really helped solidify the learning. It felt like more than just a course; it was genuine preparation for responding confidently in the real world. Jarrett and his team have made something truly special with Delta. Not only was it hands down the best first aid course I’ve ever taken, they go above and beyond to put you in the mindset of an actual responder. The level to which they go to ensure everyone was comfortable and proficient in areas they were struggling in was way more than I’ve ever seen. All of the instructors were professionals and made sure you were ready to take on the job we each were planning on doing. If you want to be able to actually use the skills you are learning, go with Delta.

“I have taken many first aid & CPR courses, this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. Mike, Jarrett & Steve were all great instructors! Explained all aspects of the course clearly. Discussions took us beyond the textbook and a glimpse into real life scenarios and experiences. The hybrid option allowed for me to do the course without having to take time off work or alter my schedule which was a huge bonus! Beyond the incredible instructors and experience, our “in-person” location was so cool! Coffee and treats provided as a nice bonus too ;)
I cannot recommend this company enough!”

“Fantastic experience and a great AFA course by the team at Delta Emergency! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and the hybrid course allowed me to continue to work full time while going through it. Jarrett, Michael, Steven and the other staff were all extremely helpful in helping us to grow and learn through both skill and scenario practicing, and they definitely worked to push us beyond the basics of knowledge to further excel in the process. I would definitely recommend this crew to anyone looking to get their certifications and training done!”

“I had the best experience training with Delta for my Advanced First Aid. Jarrett is awesome. The class was fun. I started from being so overwhelmed and nervous to being very confident at the end of training. Thank you so much Jarrett for the encouragement and support. I will recommend everyone to train with Delta.”

“Mike was our group's Advanced First Aid Instructor & he was awesome!

Everything through the course was very informative, but Mike also did what he could to keep things interesting and fun too. He went above and beyond to cover the course, as well as providing his own personal professional experience, and other relevant information relating to our own personal fields of interest (workplace first aid, firefighting, etc) which I think not only shows a dedication to helping us succeed in the course, but also moving forward in our own professional careers.

Would highly recommend Delta to anyone considering a career as a First Responder in any field!”

First Aid & Responder Training Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. Delta Emergency Support Training is a Canadian Red Cross Training Partner delivering approved Red Cross first aid, CPR, Advanced First Aid, BLS, and responder-focused programs.

  • Delta Emergency offers Canadian Red Cross first aid, CPR, AED, Advanced First Aid, BLS, oxygen, airway, and responder-focused courses.

    Our main training streams include:

First Aid, CPR & AED for workplaces, individuals, parents, and childcare providers.
Professional Responder courses for fire applicants, industrial responders, EMR-pathway students, and future paramedics.
Healthcare Provider courses for dental teams, nurses, clinics, healthcare staff, and professional responders.
Onsite Group Training for workplaces, municipalities, fire departments, industrial teams, First Nations communities, clinics, and private groups.

  • Yes. AED training is included in Canadian Red Cross first aid and CPR courses where applicable.

Students learn how to recognize emergencies, perform CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator as part of their course training. This is one of the most common questions people ask because many workplaces specifically request “CPR and AED training,” even when AED is already included in the course.

  • Delta Emergency offers public courses in Calgary and Leduc.

Calgary is our primary training location. Leduc supports students in the Edmonton region. Private onsite training is also available across Alberta and beyond for workplaces, organizations, fire departments, municipalities, industrial teams, First Nations communities, clinics, and private groups.

  • Yes. Delta Emergency provides private onsite first aid, CPR, Advanced First Aid, BLS, oxygen, airway, and responder training for organizations across Alberta and beyond.

Onsite training is a strong option for workplaces or groups that need private scheduling, staff training, location-specific planning, or training delivered at their own site. We can support companies, municipalities, fire departments, industrial sites, First Nations communities, clinics, camps, and private organizations.

Delta Emergency has delivered training for fire departments, municipalities, First Nations communities, remote worksites, industrial teams, camps, and private groups. Our instructors have flown to other provinces, driven across northern Alberta, and travelled to locations including Saskatchewan First Nations communities and BC municipal sites.

We can support onsite training for workplaces, youth groups, summer camps, mining operations, forestry, oilfield, wildfire teams, clinics, fire departments, municipalities, and almost any group that needs practical first aid or responder training.

If your team needs training, Delta Emergency can come to you with instructors, equipment, and certification support. Travel-based delivery, remote locations, and custom scheduling are quoted as premium private training services.

  • Delta Emergency courses are taught by experienced paramedics, firefighters, and emergency professionals.

Our instructional team brings real emergency response, patient care, and operational experience into the classroom. Training is built around practical skill development, patient assessment, decision-making, realistic scenarios, and professional standards.

This is not checkbox first aid. Students are coached to understand what they are doing, why they are doing it, and how to apply their skills when it matters.

  • Many fire applicants require Advanced First Aid, depending on the department and application process.

EMR may help with preparation, confidence, and future responder development, but it is not always required for every fire application. Applicants should confirm the current requirements with the specific fire department they are applying to before registering.

Delta Emergency’s Advanced First Aid and responder-focused courses are commonly used by students preparing for fire service applications, industrial response roles, and higher-level emergency training.

  • Advanced First Aid is an 80-hour Canadian Red Cross course focused on advanced first aid skills, patient assessment, CPR/AED, emergency care, and practical response.

Emergency Medical Responder is a higher-level responder program that builds further into prehospital emergency care, assessments, interventions, and responder-level decision-making.

    A common pathway is:

Standard First Aid → Advanced First Aid → AFA to EMR Bridge / EMR pathway

Advanced First Aid is often the key step for fire applicants, industrial responders, and students preparing for higher-level emergency response.

  • Yes, but students need to choose prerequisite courses based on the school they plan to apply to.

Some Alberta PCP programs may accept Advanced First Aid, Medical First Responder, or EMR-style prerequisites, while others may require an Alberta College of Paramedics approved EMR program. Requirements can differ by school and may change over time.

Delta Emergency can help students understand the training pathway, but students should always confirm current entrance requirements directly with their target PCP program before registering.

  • No. Delta Emergency Support Training is a Canadian medical training company and is not affiliated with Delta Air Lines.

We provide first aid, CPR, Advanced First Aid, BLS, oxygen, airway, and responder training. We cannot help with flights, baggage, airline reservations, airport emergencies, or Delta Air Lines customer service issues.

  • It depends on the course type, group size, location, instructor availability, equipment requirements, and how quickly certification is needed.

Less-than-one-day courses and recertifications are usually easier to accommodate. Multi-day responder courses, advanced recertifications, or larger private groups are more difficult to arrange on short notice because they require more instructor time, equipment planning, scheduling changes, and sometimes overtime or travel.

Urgent private training may still be possible at one of our training locations or at your workplace/site, but short-notice delivery is a premium service.
